Access to Justice & Law Reform Institute of Nova Scotia

The Access to Justice & Law Reform Institute began as the Law Reform Commission of Nova Scotia in 1991 as a statutory law reform commission. In 2019, as a result of the Final Recommendations of the Access to Justice Coordinating Committee Report (2018) the Law Reform Commission restructured as the Access to Justice & Law Reform Institute.

The Institute continues to be independent of government and makes recommendations for the improvement, modernization & reform of the law. The Institute also serves as a center for coordination, research & learning on A2J.

The Institute is funded by the Law Foundation of Nova Scotia with in kind support from the Schulich School of Law.
